The program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The MPA program offers the student opportunities to develop knowledge and skills required for a progressively responsible administrative career and the flexibility to concentrate in one of several areas: state and local administration, nonprofit management, environmental policy, financial management, policy analysis, human resource management, and executive leadership. A tailored concentration may also be arranged in cooperation with other graduate programs at VCU, or a dual MPA/JD through our agreement with the T.C. Williams Law School of the University of Richmond. Classes are scheduled in the evening and weekends for the convenience of working professionals. Graduates of public administration programs hold a wide range of positions in governmental and nonprofit organizations.
