The University of Utah has one of the few programs in the West offering a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree, as well as the Master of Science (M.S.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. The M.E. is a non-thesis masters program especially suitable for mining engineers who wish to augment their technical knowledge. This is a terminal degree and does not qualify for continuing for the Ph.D.
