The College of Education offers the required curriculum for The Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education (ACVREP) Orientation and Mobility Specialist Certification. The O&M program of study has been approved by the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER), as well as the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). All courses are required for national O&M certification. Two courses have required, weekend, on-campus, instructional sessions. Additionally, due to the nature of the content, two courses are offered only on-campus in an entirely face-to-face format. These courses are offered during summer terms. The "Reach Across Texas" Program funds pay partial tuition for qualified students (pending funding).
