Master's
M.S. - Mariculture
On Campus

Mariculture explores the management and sustainable utilization of commercially important marine organisms. It links biology and business practices to maximize efficiency in the use of marine resources. This broad discipline includes farm-raising items in the human diet (such as fish and shrimp), but is more than that. Topics range from managing naturally occurring resources (such as oyster reefs) to developing uses for marine organisms and their products in research and industry. The Mariculture Program prepares graduates with skills necessary for positions in both the public and private sectors. Academic courses in the program provide students with range and depth in Mariculture, Biology and Business. Practical skills are refined through hands-on training at various research facilities and commercial farms.
