The M.A.T. in early childhood education leads to a recommendation for certification to teach in pre-kindergarten through grade three in South Carolina. Programs of study focus on the academic, social, and emotional development of young children. Students come to the program interested in beginning professional careers in preschools, Montessori environments, day care centers, public schools, and children's hospitals.
