The Department of Computing Sciences at Villanova offers the MS degree in Computer Science, the MS degree in Software Engineering and, in collaboration with the Villanova School of Business, the Master of Technology Management -- the MTM degree. The Master of Science in Computer Science is a broad-based computing degree that prepares students for a variety of careers in computing as well as for further study at the doctoral level. The Master of Science in Software Engineering emphasizes preparation for careers in software development and software project management, as well as further study. The Master of Technology Management balances advanced material in computing with fundamentals of business. Four graduate level certificates are available: Networks, Systems programming, Web-based Technology and Knowledge-based systems. All courses are offered in the evening to accommodate part time as well as full time students. Courses are taught by a balanced mix of full-time faculty and professionals working in the related area. Many of the students are working in area industries and bring the perspective of daily exposure to some of the problems studied. Some tuition scholarships and graduate assistantships are available for well-qualified full-time students.
