Our supportive, closely knit community is a comfortable home for students whose breadth of political persuasions, ethnic and cultural experiences, sexual orientation, and economic backgrounds are valued. Our students come from colleges and universities across the country. Half of them practice outside Oregon after graduation, but just as many stay, and it's not difficult to see why: Oregon's spectacular scenery, thriving economy, and progressive spirit make it one of the most livable states in the country. Oregon offers a three-year full time program leading to the Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree. In addition, we offer a master of laws in environmental and natural resources law, an interdisciplinary master's degree in conflict and dispute resolution, and concurrent degrees in law and business administration, international studies, conflict and dispute resolution, and environmental studies. Additionally, we offer special academic programs and academic opportunities through the Appropriate Dispute Resolution Center, the Center for Law and Entrepreneurship, the Ocean and Coastal Law Center, the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Center, the Public Interest-Public Service Program, and the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics. Certificate programs are offered in business law, criminal law, environmental and natural resources law, estate planning, intellectual property law, international law, law and entrepreneurship, ocean and coastal law, public interest and public service law, and tax law. Outside the classroom, our students obtain hands-on experience through our clinical and externship programs. Moreover, they learn from each other by participating in student-run academic activities such as the Oregon Law Review, the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation, the Oregon Review of International Law, and several moot court programs.
