The curriculum of the OSU Counseling Program is designed to prepare persons for work in school and community settings that provide counseling services for children, youth, and families. Graduates of this program find employment in schools or community settings, such as children's service programs, mental health programs, substance abuse treatment programs, child and adolescent treatment centers, community colleges, and nonprofit counseling centers. For those who work in community settings, the emphasis is on the link between schools and communities. Students are expected to participate in a multi-disciplinary approach to counseling. A school counseling license is not earned as a result of completing the Community Agencies Linked to Schools programs.
