The MSEd curriculum covers topics such as educational leadership, supervision and professional development, instructional leadership, curriculum, school law, internship, research, community relations, leadership in diverse communities and school finance. The principal license may be earned by completing 12 additional semester hours and providing evidence of two years of teaching experience under a standard teaching certificate. A student who has earned a principal license may choose to pursue a superintendent license. An educational specialist degree (EdS) is available to students who have completed the MSEd. The EdS program is designed to enhance individual capabilities for educational leadership. Applicants to the E.D.S. or licensure programs in educational leadership must have earned a master’s degree from an accredited institution.
