The MA program in Art Education is concerned with theory, practice, and research, primarily in public schools. The focus for study and research is art: how it is most richly learned and most effectively taught. It is a subject-centered focus that involves 4 dimensions of engagement with art: art creation, art criticism, art history, and aesthetics (Theory about art, beauty, and the aesthetic). Study is supported by concepts from the humanities and social sciences. The intended populations are in standard K-12 and post-secondary school settings.
