The program in Talmud and Rabbinics trains students in the advanced study of rabbinic texts: Mishnah and Tosefta, the Babylonian and Palestinian Talmuds, Second-Temple literature, Midrash Halakhah and Midrash Aggadah, responsa and legal codes. Students use literary, critical-historical, and other methodologies to analyze and derive meaning from rabbinic texts.
