The program focuses on preparing teachers to educate learners with mild disabilities.The objectives of this program are: to provide opportunities for graduate study forpersons presently working with learners with disabilities who seek to further theirteaching competence, e.g., general education teachers, counselors, and institutionalpersonnel; to provide a training program for persons seeking New York Statecertification as special education teachers; to provide a relevant master's degree programthat meets certification requirements; to prepare individuals capable of teaching learnerswith disabilities in public and private schools or other education-related settings.
