The one-year certificate program is an intensive 10-month course of study for advanced photographers. Throughout the year, students engage in a series of classes and workshops designed to provide the foundation upon which their photographic practice is built. Through a carefully designed sequence, students learn contemporary, traditional, and digital image-making skills while examining the creative and critical histories of the medium. The ICP-Bard Program in Advanced Photographic Studies equips aspiring photographers with all the skills, theoretical and practical, that they need to pursue careers as working professionals. Combining the best aspects of apprenticeship, fieldwork, studio critique, and classroom training, the 60 credits required for the ICP-Bard MFA degree in photography are reflected in the diversity of the medium, ranging from traditional black-and-white photography, to digital imaging, video, and installation work.
