Fordham University's Department of Philosophy has a long and distinguished record, having offered graduate programs in philosophy for more than 50 years. Renowned for its strengths in medieval philosophy and contemporary continental philosophy, the department's Ph.D. and M.A. programs feature both an emphasis on contemporary issues and a historical and pluralistic approach that stresses the history of philosophy as a necessary context for contemporary philosophical debates.
