The program is designed for three primary target populations: teachers wishing to specialize in literacy education; elementary or secondary teachers desiring more thorough preparation in teaching literacy in the classroom; special education teachers needing stronger preparation in literacy education. Candidates must be certified in some area of education before entering the M.S.
