The Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health educates students, professionals and the public about the role of food in society, culture, health, and commerce. Department programs apply and integrate this information via a core curriculum and further specialization in four distinct but related areas: nutrition, food studies, food management, and public health. Unique graduate summer and intersession study abroad/study away programs complement the curriculum and are offered in Cape Town, South Africa (Community Health: A Society in Transition); Florence, Italy (Italian Cuisine and the Mediterranean Diet).
