NYU Steinhardt is one of the few universities in the country to offer a graduate degree in the music business field and the advantage of being located in the world's music business capital. The M.A. program in Music Business curriculum promotes individual choices and development through an interactive classroom atmosphere; internships; and completion of research requirements. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as the Program Board, WNYU radio station, and the Music Industry Student Association. Students develop skills that will help them succeed in a fast-paced industry requiring leaders who can apply business and administration theory to problems that have a strong aesthetic and artistic dimension. The program also sponsors its own record company, Village Records. Alumni work at online and traditional record companies, booking agencies, publicity firms, management companies, concert promotion agencies, and radio and music television stations. Deepen your understanding of global trends and practices in arts management through our January abroad global music management course in London, England. The M.A. program in Music Business is offered in cooperation with NYU's Leonard N. Stern Graduate School of Business.
