Columbia University in the City of New York offers a broad range of courses and seminars in traditional and emerging fields of French literary studies. The faculty represents a spectrum of contemporary approaches, with emphasis on theory and a concern with historical context. Students benefit from a comprehensive training while developing their own areas of expertise. Requirements: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking of French and English; a general knowledge of French literature. Supporting material required (such as a paper written in French).
