Taking your art practice to new heights requires a rich and supportive environment. The MFA program at The City College provides an opportunity to study studio art at the heart of the art world, in New York City. We limit our program to no more than twenty students, each with an individual studio, to insure an intensive professional experience. City College’s excellent faculty and facilities and its affordable tuition offers an opportunity for students to follow their creative vision in a collaborative environment while engaging with the wealth of art resources that New York City has to offer. The MFA Program offers general instruction in the theory, practice, and teaching of the visual arts through a required sequence of courses as well as in-depth training in one or more of the following areas of specialization: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, or ceramic design for a total of 54 credits in studio art and art history.
