The School of Social Work offers full time and part time graduate study leading to the Master of Social Work degree. The program is designed to provide academic and field work education with a specialization in family preservation in multicultural settings based on the foundation first year or generalist practice. The program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Admission to the program is in accordance with the general regulations of the Graduate School, which include a completed undergraduate degree froman accredited institution. The undergraduate degree must include two (2) courses from the humanities, two (2) from the natural and biological sciences (with one course in human biology or its equivalent), and three (3) from the behavioral and social sciences, with at least one (1) course in sociology or psychology. A personal assessment statement, current resume, and three letters of reference are also required in order to demonstrate the suitability of the applicant for social work practice. The program does not grant academic credit for work or other life experience in lieu of social work course or field content.
