The FDU certificate program for Literacy Specialist will provide K-12 classroom teachers with a concentration of courses that will extend their knowledge and skills in language arts, literacy and reading, as well as applications of effective strategies in their classrooms to enhance student literacy as a foundation for all other content areas and learning. The 18 credits for Literacy Specialist may be applied to the 30 credits required by the state of New Jersey for an endorsement/ licensure as a Reading Specialist.
