The CMB Training Program has been an important component to graduate education at Duke University since 1975. It grew from a Biochemistry Training Program into a Training Program that became highly interdisciplinary and included all the departments of the basic biological sciences at Duke. In an effort to be inclusive and to provide the highest level of training over the broad range of cell and molecular topics, currently there are 109 faculty participants in the Training Program. At present there are nearly 100 predoctoral students in the Program, and well over 250 predoctoral students have been supported by the Program since its inception.
