M.S. - Mining Engineering

Mining engineers design, construct, and manage quarries, surface and underground mines in an environmentally responsible manner. Proficiency is acquired in permitting, planning, development, operation, reclamation, and closure of mines while applying technical skills acquired through this program. Our objective is to provide a quality education that blends theory and practice to produce a mining engineer who can pursue a successful career and is prepared to meet the vigorous demands of natural resource development throughout the world. Our graduates have a strong background in mining, excellent engineering and design skills, and great computer and communication skills. Placement in mining is 100%. Mining engineering is an exciting and challenging field. Salaries are extremely generous and the opportunity exists for you to rise to the top of the corporate ladder as evidenced by the numerous alumni who have been CEO’s and presidents of major mining companies.
