The Reading and Literacy Education programs challenge educators to extend and enhance their knowledge and skills for literacy instruction by enabling them to become more reflective of their practice in ways that will help all students to learn. These attributes support a constructivist view of reading and literacy skill development with a diagnostic approach to instruction. Program content and sequence are designed to provide advanced conceptual knowledge. A clinical practicum experience is an essential component of the program.
