Doctoral
Ph.D. - Developmental Psychology
On Campus

Students are accepted for graduate study in developmental psychology for study leading to the Ph.D. Whilestudents seek the Ph.D. for many different reasons, the Doctoral Program in Developmental Psychology isbased on two components: 1) instruction in the fundamental facts and theories of developmental psychology;and 2) training in the creation and conduct of research. Many career paths may result from this training--theclassic ones of careers in research and college teaching, as well as careers in government agencies, hospitals, schools, private industry, and more. In all cases, however, a unique component of the Ph.D.'s expertise is thatof understanding and executing various forms of research. Thus, training in research expertise is a centralcomponent of graduate study in developmental psychology.
