The Department of Communication offers programs leading to the Master of Arts degree in Communication and the Masters in Health Communication. In the Masters of Communication students pursue one of two tracks of study: a thesis track that emphasizes scholarly training or a final examination track that emphasizes a practical approach. The Masters in Health Communication is a final examination track only with an internship experience required.The Ph.D. program in the Department of Communication is primarily a research degree. The program places a strong emphasis on preparing the student to teach in a variety of contexts at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
