According to the "Radiologist Assistant Role Delineation" published by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in 2005, per a consensus statement developed by the American College of Radiology and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the RA is an advanced-level radiographer who, under radiologist supervision, performs patient assessment, patient management, and selected imaging procedures.
