At the graduate level, the programs in Mechanical Engineering are the MSME, the degree of Mechanical Engineer and the Ph.D. In each of these the student may pursue a specialty in thermofluids engineering, applied mechanics, or materials science. The Industrial Engineering graduate programs at the masters level may be pursued toward the MSIE or toward professional Masters degrees in Operations Research (jointly with the department of mathematics) or Engineering Management. There is also the degree of Industrial Engineer and the Ph.D. Here students may specialize in applied statistics, computer systems engineering, manufacturing systems and operations research.
