Management of Projects and Programs is the study of management, leadership, and technology. It brings together the hard skills of planning, estimating and budgeting with the soft skills of negotiation, conflict management, influencing and effective communication. To be successful in today's interdisciplinary and increasingly distributed and virtual environments, Project Managers must possess shared concepts and skills and a common language with which to communicate. The goal of this program is to provide students with a strong management orientation as well as a comprehensive understanding of the variety of elements necessary to bring projects to successful conclusion, on budget and on time. People beginning careers in any field requiring the management of complex projects over extended time may equip themselves from the start for this evolving professional field. Current practitioners have the opportunity to position themselves for more advanced career steps, including management of a project office or transitioning to program management. This program helps students reach their goals through an emphasis on fundamental theory combined with methods that are essential for project success. Our faculty, all of whom are practicing, experienced professionals, brings real world problems and applications into the classroom through case studies and teamwork.
