The purpose of this certificate program is to train graduate students and professionals to both identify social and psychological job-related stressors and to learn strategies to reduce the work environment causes of these stress hazards - both to reduce the escalating magnitude of stress-related problems and illnesses and to improve organizational effectiveness. Identification of hazards builds on multi-disciplinary understanding of the stress development process at the workplace. Prevention techniques include monitoring strategies, training, communication strategies, and redesign of the organizational and technical aspects of work processes.
