The programs offer opportunities for graduate studies in the broadly defined areas of communications and electro-optics; parallel computer architectures and supercomputing; database systems; intelligent systems and advanced automation; microwave and solid state electronics; remote and in-situ ocean sensing systems; and signals, systems, control and estimation theory. An emphasis in the marine applications of these broad areas is supported by specialized courses and dissertation research.
