In addition to crop physiologists who specialize in cotton and soybean research and a plant nutritionist, we have faculty who specialize in the breeding and genetics of wheat, oats, corn, soybeans, forages and cotton. LSU is also one of the few universities where research is conducted in rice breeding, genetics, and production, and one of only two universities in the nation having a program in sugarcane production.
