Our Music Therapy program features a six-month internship at a site approved by the American Music Therapy Association. AMTA is the profession's mechanism to help establish high quality teacher preparation. At Illinois State University, we offer a wide variety of study programs within the spectrum of music including; Music Education, Performance, Collaborative Piano, Composition, Conducting, and Music Therapy. We emphasize creative thinking, performance techniques, understanding the learner and developing your skills to become an effective teacher, performer, collaborator, conductor, composer, or music therapist.
