The Department of Biology offers a program of graduate study leading to the Master of Science Degree in Biology. Through its structure and its faculty, the program focuses on the development of experimental and intellectual skills required for vigorous research. Since we offer a research/thesis based M.S. degree, the program takes approximately 2 to 3 years to complete. Students may pursue graduate study in any of the areas of scientific interest represented among the faculty. Research interests of the faculty fall into three broad areas: Cell and Molecular Biology; Biochemistry and Physiology; and Population Biology and Ecology.
