The M.A.T. degree program in English education is designed for students who have an undergraduate degree in English and few or no professional education courses. Successful completion of the program enables students to receive licensure as secondary schoolteachers of English.
The Ph.D. program is designed to prepare students for careers as educational researchers and teacher educators. Course work provides broad background in relevant theoretic and research literature, grounding in qualitative research methodology, and opportunities to conduct original studies that explore the nature of literate practices both in and out of school.
