Students develop an individual design perspective as they complete advanced projects. Coursework parallels professional practice involving actual clients.Industrial design projects have included designs ranging from automobiles to multimedia products sponsored by industry clients such as Coca-Cola, Compaq, Eastman Chemical Company and Tupperware.Students develop projects in the departmentÆs state-of-the-art electronic design studios and computer lab, using a client/server network configured with a diverse range of design software including Ashlar Vellum, Adobe Photoshop, SURFCAM, Rhino and Alias StudioTools and Maya. An intranet system offers students online help, downloadable 3-D models, building use maps and other information. In the fully equipped state-of-the-art model shop, students can work with woods, metals, plastics and composite materials.
