Computer Engineering is a concentration that entails the development of software and hardware for computer systems. Computer engineering is one of the most dynamic fields in terms of market growth around the world. The 36-credit program includes required work experience and a non-credit orientation to the American workplace and higher education. Students will hold part-time or full-time jobs and normally take three courses per semester, completing the program in two years. The course content includes software engineering, computer architecture, and operating systems, as well as security issues, project management, research methods, and a variety of elective courses in the area of information technology. Students will receive a thorough theoretical background, and at the same time their work experiences will provide exposure to the kinds of activities in which engineers are currently engaged. Students will be prepared to work for organizations ranging from telecommunications companies to banks and investment firms to large hotel chains.
