It is proud to provide one of the most prominent programs for the study of Latin America in the United States. In addition to offering Latin American curricula at the graduate level, the Latin American program at UCSD has distinctive characteristics: * A unique combination of resources focused on Latin America, including the Center for Iberian and Latin American Studies, the Center for U.S. Mexican Studies, the Center for Comparative Immigration Studies, and the Institute of the Americas. * Over eighty full-time Latin American specialists on faculty * The deliberate integration of teaching, research, and policy analysis * The promotion of interdisciplinary perspectives * Active collaboration with colleagues, students, and leaders from Latin America The Master of Arts in Latin American Studies is designed for students who seek to integrate a broad range of disciplinary approaches to a world region of growing international significance.
