The broadcast news medium is undergoing exciting changes as it responds to the digital revolution and to the ever-increasing number of media choices. The Newhouse School's one-year graduate program in broadcast journalism prepares students for careers in this dynamic field by providing a combination of practical training and theoretical study. This one-year program includes courses in writing, information gathering and reporting, editing, producing, and anchoring for radio and television news, as well as communications theory, research, and legal and ethical issues. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience in all professional coursework, and students are encouraged to pursue University-sponsored internships.
