Students will study social theory, as well as strategies and skills from experienced activists who teach, lead workshops, and mentor students in the community. Students put theory into practice by completing significant field studies in social movements and community organizations. Linking intellectual challenge with social action, the Activism & Social Change Program explores: Our Social World from the local to the global Social Movements past and present The Global economy in relation to people, culture and nature Methods and strategies for organizers and activists Students have opportunities to: Work with skilled local, national and international activists who serve as faculty, guest lecturers and community advisors Intern with progressive organizations as part of their degree program.
