The Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology, fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), seeks to train scientist-practitioners in a variety of domains, including basic and applied research, teaching, preventative interventions with "high risk" populations, psychotherapy, and research and treatment services in medical settings. Essential components of the program are: a comprehensive grounding in behavioral science, training in the theories and techniques of clinical intervention, the development of research skills for the analysis of individual and community-centered problems, and a thorough familiarization with professional and ethical issues in contemporary human service settings. The graduate program is staffed by 14 full-time faculty. Approximately 40 full-time students are in residence.
