There is also a thesis track available for students who intend to do higher research or subsequently get into a PhD program in finance. The program is very hands-on and the students get to use a host of cuttingedge tools and techniques needed to put theoretical knowledge into practical use. Courses in the program are designed so as to help students transform theoretical knowledge into practical applications rather than just acquire knowledge for its own sake. A special finance laboratory equipped with Bloomberg terminals is available for student use. Additionally, all MGF students get to actively participate in the management of the APU Student Fund which exposes them to handling a real investment portfolio rather than merely a simulated one.
