In addition to all the great events in Phoenix, the city also boasts free admission to all its museums on the first Friday of every month.

January

Carefree Arts and Wine Festival - This event features arts, crafts, entertainment and wine. More than 160 artists with displays. This is Arizona's largest wine-tasting event, featuring wines from Arizona, California, Australia, Germany, Austria, France and Italy. It is sponsored by Thunderbird Artists.

Fairgrounds Antique Market - Those with an interest in antiques will love browsing through the hundreds of them gathered at the Arizona State Fairgrounds.

February

Arizona Travel Show - Hundreds of representatives from travel-related organizations, including cruise lines, tour operators and resorts gather in Phoenix every February. The fest includes hourly destination seminars, door prizes, music, dancing and culture of countries around the world.

Blues Blast - This soulful musical festival takes place at the Mesa Amphitheatre and is sponsored by the Phoenix Blues Society. Enjoy nationally acclaimed blues artists while sitting on your blanket on the grass.

March

Festival of the West - This music fest boasts three stages of continuous western music and cowboy entertainment. Activities include the Western Music Jamboree, the Western Trade Show - with more than 200 exhibitors - the Log Home Show, the Western Film Festival and Cowboy Poetry.

June

Juneteenth Celebrations - Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Find celebrations throughout Phoenix.

September

Fall Starlight Concert Series - Bring a blanket or lawn chair and snacks and sit back and enjoy a relaxing evening in the park while you listen to some of the Valley's best musical entertainers for free. All performances are held on Tuesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. at the amphitheater at Arrowhead Meadows Park.

October

Empty Bowl - At the Arizona Center, a minimum $12 donation will let you select a unique, handcrafted ceramic bowl from thousands of beautiful donated bowls. The contents of the bowl won't fill you up, but it is similar to the total amount of food consumed on a daily basis by many less fortunate people around the world. You keep the commemorative bowl as a reminder that someone else's bowl is always empty. Proceeds from the event benefit Waste Not.
