Nashville Boat & Sportshow - Like to fish? Would you like a boat? This is your festival. It's normally held at the Nashville Convention Center in mid-January of every year, and features numerous boat and gaming exhibits.
Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America Annual Bluegrass Music Awards & National Convention - Bluegrass music is traditionally descended from Scotch-Irish immigrants and holds a large influence in country music - and we are in Nashville after all. This event is held every year during the first week of February.
Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival - This event is held late March-early April. It spotlights the songwriters and songs that contribute to Nashville's musical tradition. The weeklong festival is named in honor of New York's fabled Tin Pan Alley and celebrates the strength of Nashville's songwriting community. This event is produced by the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
26-mile Marathon and 1/2 mile Marathon - More than 10,000 runners converge on Music City every April, normally held the 3rd weekend of the month, to run in this 26-mile Marathon and the 1/2-mile Marathon. It even comes with roadside bands and entertainment.
The Bonnaroo Music Festival - This hippie throw-down is held every June. It debuted in 2002 on a 600-acre farm in rural Manchester, Tennessee, located 60 miles south of Nashville. This event features diverse musical styling over three days. Rolling Stone Magazine called Bonnaroo "The American rock festival to end all festivals."
Music Award Shows - Nashville is also home to the annual Country Music Television and Country Music Association music award shows which generally run in April and June respectively.
