Spring

Drive the Mile - Each May, Milwaukee residents get the opportunity to drive their own street vehicle around "The Milwaukee Mile."

Jazz in the Park - Jazz in the Park kicks off in May and runs throughout the summer. Admission is free and people are welcome to bring a picnic, or sample the best local food and wine. Whether to simply relax with friends, or to take in local and national jazz acts, Jazz in the Park is not to be missed.

Summer

Gathering on the Green - July bears witness to this outdoor performing arts event that features some of Milwaukee's best performers. The performers are members of groups including the Milwaukee Ballet Company, the Florentine Opera, the Skylight Opera Theatre and the Gathering on the Green Festival Orchestra.

Governor's Cup Race Weekend - More than 200 stock car teams of the finest short-track late model racers compete at the Milwaukee Mile. The Mobile Mile, an interactive driving simulation experience, is also be featured.

Autumn

Indian Summer Festival - Held at Henry Masier Festival Park, September's Indian Summer Festival is the largest Native American festival in the country. Features include cultural demonstrations, storytellers, juried fine arts and American Indian traditional and contemporary entertainers. Don't miss the tribal village re-creations, the torch-lit canoe procession or the authentic Native American food.

Milwaukee's Lakefront Marathon - Located in Veterans Park in October, the marathon involves both individual runners and five-person relay teams. The flat run highlights the beautiful neighborhoods located along Lake Michigan.

Winter

World of Wheels Custom Car Show - In January, more than 300 competitive cars, bikes and trucks are on display, including custom automobiles, sport compacts, low-riders and hot rods. Special guest appearances are made by celebrities who often sign autographs.

Indian Summer Festival's Winter Pow-Wow - In March, Native Americans invite the public to join them in celebrating their culture and friendship. Features include "inter-tribals," which involve traditional Native American songs and dancing.
