
Spring
In April, the Indianapolis International Film Festival takes a nine-day run, bringing the community culturally diverse films and documentaries. More than 100 films are shown at four different venues.
National Tourism Week and Enjoy Indiana Week kicks off in May. The best attractions, restaurants, shops and entertainment in Indianapolis are on display for all to see and experience. New museum exhibits, film festivals, wineries and more are among the features.
Memorial Day marks the traditional IPL 500 Festival Parade, which is part of the famous Indy 500 race festivities. The qualified Indy 500 drivers serve as Honorary Grand Marshals. This is a must-see event each year in Indianapolis
Summer
The annual Indy Jazz Fest is held each June over three days. Multiple stages feature local and national acts, combining the finest in blues, jazz, roots, R&B and zydeco. Vendors offer a variety of local foods.
The Vintage Indiana Wine & Food Festival takes place in June, featuring live music, cooking demos and wine-pairing lessons. More than a dozen local wineries offer samples, while Indiana's finest chefs provide the cuisine.
Autumn
The Spirit & Place Civic Festival takes place in November, with 35,000 community participants celebrating the diversity of Indianapolis with workshops, lectures, exhibits, plays, concerts, intergenerational gatherings and more. The festival focuses on community collaboration and fostering growth. Participants include 150 organizations, associations, institutions and congregations representing every facet of the community.
Through cultural displays, entertainment, ethnic food, a global bazaar and more, The International Festival highlights the diverse and cultural experience enjoyed by Indianapolis residents.
Winter
December's Kroger Christmas at the Zoo is an Indianapolis tradition featuring hundreds of thousands of lights, campfires and reindeer. More than 150 huge light sculptures with holiday themes are on display, and caroling and entertainment is performed during the evenings.
The Indiana Rail Road Company's Holiday Trainland rolls into town in December. There is something for children of all ages at this event that features elaborate model train displays, shopping, and holiday plants and flowers.
