Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historic Site

Tour the King Birth Home, the King burial site and Ebenezer Baptist Church, where three generations of the King family preached.

High Museum of Art

This museum boasts 312,000 square feet of world-class art exhibits of European and American paintings as well as African, folk, decorative, special exhibitions and 20th century art and photography.

Georgia Aquarium

At the world's largest aquarium, more than 100,000 marine animals from more than 500 species worldwide are housed in tanks holding about eight million gallons of water.

The Fox Theatre

Built in the 1920s, this magnificent and extravagantly decorated theatre hosts Broadway musicals, the Atlanta Ballet, concerts and more. The Theatre features an indoor Arabian courtyard, period furnishings and a ceiling depicting a sky full of shining stars and clouds.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Fifteen acres of outdoor gardens and one of the world's largest displays of tropical orchids are featured. The Botanical Garden includes the Fuqua Conservatory, which houses rare and endangered tropical and desert plants.

Virginia-Highland

This is the neighborhood to visit for shopping, dining and nightlife. The area features ethnic restaurants, art galleries, antiques and boutiques, as well as bars and pubs.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

The Southeast's largest natural history museum, the Fernbank Museum, houses the world's largest dinosaurs. Hands-on exhibits, galleries and a 315-seat IMAX theater make this museum a must-see experience.

Six Flags Over Georgia Theme Park

The second theme park in the Six Flags chain is just west of the city on I-20.

Stone Mountain Park

Georgia's most-visited attraction, the park is located just east of Atlanta. It boasts more than 3,300 acres and features a replica 1870s Southern town, Crossroads. Crossroads includes several attractions, live entertainment and Georgia's only 4-D theater. On the face of Stone Mountain are giant carvings of Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. During the summer, laser shows are performed.
