Master's
M.Sc.-Sports Leadership
Online

Until now, sports professionals seeking to develop their leadership skills have had to rely upon on-the-job training and informal mentoring among colleagues.  Sports professionals have not had educational opportunities to build skills in handling ethical and legal matters, strategic marketing issues, and most importantly, leadership training for contemporary sports challenges. The knowledge and skills mastered in the online Master of Science in Sports Leadership will expand the leadership and ethical tool set among a distinguished group of sports industry managers. The MSSL provides a comprehensive 36-credit curriculum that addresses sports leadership from a management perspective and emphasizes the application of ethics and leadership in the contemporary business environment. Students will cultivate an ability to lead and refine critical thinking and problem solving abilities.  As part of a peer-learning network, sports professionals will better understand current industry issues in law, negotiation, market research and sales. Current students include collegiate team coaches, senior directors, ticket managers and other professionals representing major league baseball, stadiums, and minor league baseball.
