Students performing research for a master's thesis may acquire training in several optical or magnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques; in microscopy; in the design of organic and inorganic catalysts; in enzymology and rapid kinetics techniques; in high-performance chemical computing; advanced electrochemistry; chemical synthesis and general analytical chemistry; and/or the application of the tools of modern biochemistry/biotechnology. Faculty mentors sponsor master's theses in chemical and biomedical research problems.
