On Campus

The Office of Multicultural Services and the Center for Multicultural Cooperation (CMC) are committed to fostering the personal and academic success of ethnic minorities at The University of Texas at Arlington. These offices help to create an institutional atmosphere that is welcoming and responsive to the needs of African-American, Native American, Hispanic, and Pacific Island students.

Prospective students are provided an orientation to the numerous academic and cultural resources designed to assist students at U.T. Arlington so that they can begin their academic careers with an awareness of the helping services that will facilitate scholastic success. Included in this effort are potential graduate school candidates contacted through numerous outreach programs to national and local minority organizations. In addition, seminars and workshops provide leadership training and enhance the social skills and positive self-concepts necessary to acquire life skills.

In addition, the Office of Multicultural Services and the CMC facilitate the full participation of ethnic minorities in all aspects of the university community governance and other out-of-class learning opportunities. A rich cultural diversity is reflected in the number and variety of minority student organizations.

Out programs are about instilling confidence in our students. With almost 43 percent of our 20,000+ student population defined as "minority," U.T. Arlington is extremely proud that the campus is representative of the communities we serve.
